Quick comes the reasons for approving what we like

I'm Silvina, I'm 21 years old and I'm argentinian. Here you will see a lot of stuff that I agree, like, want, etc., etc. Like any other tumblr ☻

The Perfect Words Never Crossed My Mind: In Defense of Sansa Stark

machacreampuff:

Sansa Stark must be one of the most hated characters in A Song of Ice and Fire. The vitriol levelled against her is often frightening in its intensity, surpassing that for actually horrific characters like Joffrey and Ramsey Bolton. Her crime? The unforgivable fact that she…

no, it’s not racist to have black actresses play witches. no, it’s not racist to have all the witches descend from a single line. no, it’s not racist to explain that this family has a direct connection to nature and thus are witches.
however, it is problematic, at the least, to depict witches the way the show does. it is problematic that bonnie, probably one of the most important characters apart from the trio, is constantly sidelined in the actual show, disappearing for entire episodes and only showing up to clean up messes after her white counterparts, without ever being lauded or being celebrated for saving everyone’s asses. it is racist to have caroline play a bigger part in her storyline with her mother - voicing bonnie’s concerns, and saying all the things that bonnie should be saying - than bonnie herself, and that ties in with the long history of the voices of minorities being taken away, overwritten with the voices of their white counterparts, of voicelessness and a lack of agency in their own narratives. it is racist that the show never acknowledges it. also you know what is equally gross? the fact that the show stems from civil war america, where black people were slaves, where emily, the first on screen ancestor of bonnie, is a slave to katherine, and continues on to the modern day, a hundred and fifty years later, when witches are still doing the bidding of vampires, vampires who are predominantly white. that, op, is why this show is racist.

Thank you

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
